Travel around the world in just four days? Yes, it is possible! If you are in the province of Malaga at the end of April, beginning of May, don’t miss the International Fair of Countries in Fuengirola.

This colourful and lively multicultural festival attracts over a million visitors each year and is one of the most popular events on the Costa del Sol calendar. We tell you everything you need to know!


Fuengirola, a multicultural city

Almost 75% of the registered foreigners are concentrated in the eight large municipalities of the province of Malaga (Malaga city, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella, Mijas, Velez-Malaga and Estepona).

In Fuengirola for example 37% of the inhabitants are foreigners from more than 140 countries.

From this diversity of cultures and nationalities in Fuengirola, the idea of an international celebration was born in 1994 as a tribute to coexistence and tolerance. At that time, it was called the International People’s Fair and eight countries participated. Today it is a multitudinous event in which more than 30 countries participate.

What´s in store for me at the International Fair of Countries?

Don´t miss the traditional Opening Parade!

The opening parade is a true eyesight, something you should not miss! More than 30 foreign associations participate in this truly colourful parade.

The traditional parade will take place on Thursday, May 1st. More than a thousand representatives of the participating countries will take part in the parade. The parade starts at Plaza de España and ends at the fairgrounds.

Take a culinary tour of the globe without leaving the fairgrounds

Foodies will truly delight at the fair. Each representative country has a large stall. There you can buy typical delicacies throughout the day. In other words, you can take a culinary tour of the globe without leaving the fairgrounds. You can eat inside or take your food and keep strolling around.

In the evenings there is also a varied folklore programme in each of the stalls. In many of them you can also buy a typical souvenir of this country.

Live concerts

In the evenings, the fun doesn’t stop, on the contrary! It’s time to dance in the stalls! Bands take the stage: whether you love Latin rhythms or Celtic rock… if you don’t dance, it’s because you don’t want to!

Fairground attractions

Part of the esplanade of the fairgrounds is dedicated to the typical mechanical attractions of any fair. This way, even the youngest members of the family or the child in you can enjoy!

The fair attracts a large number of visitors every day

This fair is, as we said, very popular. Therefore, there is a considerable number of visitors at all hours of the day and night. If you come with the idea of having lunch at midday, be prepared that thousands of people come with the same intention. This means that the crowds can be overwhelming and there may be queues at the stalls.

If crowds are not your thing, we recommend going early in the morning when it opens or outside the Andalusian lunch and dinner hours (2 to 4 pm and 8 to 10 pm).

Parking & Getting there

Parking in the area, due to the crowds, is extremely difficult.

International Fair of Countries Fuengirola 2025

The International Fair of Countries of Fuengirola will take place this year from the 30th of April to the 4th of May at the Fuengirola Fairgrounds. The opening parade will take place on Thursday 1st May.

This year the following 33 countries will be represented: Dominican Republic, Brazil, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, Ireland, Hawaii, Spain, Romania, Cuba, Paraguay, Australia, Bolivia, Chile, Holland, Ukraine, Senegal, Peru, United States, Turkey, Colombia, Germany, Costa Rica, Argentina, Venezuela, Portugal, Poland, Finland, Jamaica, Morocco, Mexico, Belgium, Uruguay and Italy.

The fair is open continuously from 1 pm until 4 am. For the rest of the neighbours, the music will stop at 2 am on the 1st and 4th of May and at 3:30 am the rest of the days. Admission is free.
